Jesse Marsch secret weapon for winning Championship play-offs

Jesse Marsch has voiced his opinions on Leeds United’s play-off campaign, which begins on Sunday afternoon when they travel to Norwich City for the first leg of their semi-final match.

After failing to hold onto second place in the Championship, Daniel Farke’s team will play his former team this weekend at Carrow Road. After six games with four losses, Ipswich moved up to automatically replace Leeds.

Leeds advances to the play-offs, and Farke’s team would have faced Carlos Corberan prior to this weekend’s games. The Baggies are now fifth in the Championship table under the direction of the former Elland Road coach.

Following Norwich’s 1-0 loss to Birmingham City on the final day, David Wagner’s team was drawn to play Leeds in the mini-tournament. Southampton will play West Brom this coming weekend, in the meantime.

A lot of people have made play-off predictions. Richard Keys believes that Leeds will defeat Southampton in the final, while Micah Richards believes Leeds can defeat teams like Southampton.

Jesse Marsch has now commented on Leeds’ prospects of making it to the playoffs on CBS Sports Golazo:

With victories over Norwich at home and away this season, Leeds will feel confident going into a potential final at Wembley on May 26. Meanwhile, Southampton should defeat West Brom.

If Leeds plays The Saints at Wembley as predicted, The Saints will be playing with their tails up. The Yorkshire team suffered a 3-1 loss at St. Mary’s in the rematch and a final-day loss to Southampton.

“Oh my goodness, look at the play-offs in the Championship,” Marsch said in reference to the playoffs. It has a few decent clubs. That will be difficult. Without a doubt, the winner will have earned it.

Referee appointed for Leeds clash against Norwich on Sunday

Josh Smith, who officiated four Leeds games this season, including the season’s opening match against Cardiff City, which resulted in a 2-2 draw, has been handed the reins for the match in East Anglia.

Smith also managed our 3-1 victory over Hull City, which saw The Whites score two goals in the closing minutes to defeat a Hull team that had just fired Liam Rosenior, and our 2-1 league victory over Plymouth at Elland Road.

However, Smith also took charge of Preston’s 2-1 home defeat, which ultimately cost Farke’s team three points as he dismissed Illan Meslier for a weak challenge on Milutin Osmanjic in the second half.
