The former NRL player Jayden Okunbor has joined the Bradford Bulls on a temporary loan from Hull FC.

At 6 feet 5 inches tall, Okunbor plays mostly in the centres or on the wings for the Airlie Birds in Super League, though he has also been seen in the back row.

Originating from Australia, Okunbor progressed through Canterbury Bulldogs’ pathway programme before making his NRL debut against Wests Tigers in 2019.

Bradford manager Eamon O’Carroll thinks that Okunbor’s background and skill set will help his outside backs even more in the upcoming weeks: “We are happy to have someone with Jayden’s level of experience on board,” O’Carroll remarked.

“After talking with Jayden, he expressed his desire to resume playing rugby at a competitive level and play at his best. I’m confident that the people and surroundings here will provide him with the best chance to return to his best.

“He will give our group some extra presence in the outside backs and has a good skill set.” I want to express my gratitude to Simon Grix and Richie Myler for their assistance and encouragement during the past week in enabling Jayden and Liam to join our club.”
