League Express can confirm that one of the Canterbury Bulldogs’ top recruitment targets for the 2025 NRL season is forward Tom Amone of the Leigh Leopards.
Amone, 28, joined the Lancashire club ahead of the 2022 Championship season and has since flourished there. The ball-playing front-rower assisted Leigh in getting promoted to the Super League that season.
Then, in an amazing last-minute victory over Hull KR in 2023, the 28-year-old assisted the Leopards in winning the Challenge Cup for the first time in over 50 years.
Amone has battled injuries since the start of the 2024 Super League season, but he remains one of Adrian Lam’s team’s most vital players, and Canterbury has named Amone as their front-row captain going forward.
