Crawley Town became the 24th and final entry into League One for 2024/25 as they overcame Crewe Alexandra in the League Two play-off final to reach the third tier for the first time for nine years.
It’ll be the first time Bristol Rovers have ever faced the Red Devils at this level, with their previous 13 meetings either in League Two or cup competitions and the Sussex side are one of seven new teams in the division.
Birmingham City, Huddersfield Town and Rotherham United have joined after relegation from the Championship to replace Portsmouth, Derby County and Oxford United, while Stockport County, Wrexham and Mansfield Town follow Crawley from the fourth tier.
Bolton Wanderers will be remaining in League One following their 2-0 defeat to Oxford in the play-off final on Saturday.
The fixtures for the new campaign will be released on Wednesday, June 26 as Gasheads plan their schedule for the next nine months. With the Balloon Fiesta falling on the weekend of August 9-11, coinciding with the start of the season, Rovers are likely to be at the Mem for the opener.
