On the day of the event, West Midlands Police blocked up the road in both directions and opened a police investigation.
On Friday, the police stated that no suspect had been taken into custody.
Residents were alarmed by the incident; one parent expressed that they were “concerned” for their little daughter.
But another insisted the neighbourhood was a secure place to reside.
Previously, officers encouraged anyone with information about the incident to contact them via phone at 101 and using crime reference 20/498651/24 or through Live Chat on the West Midlands Police website.
The cordon has been set up around Maypole Fields in Cradley in Halesowen, with multiple police officers seen in and around the area on Thursday morning.
The incident happened around 1am, with an Audi reported to have been shot at and rammed by a Nissan Qashqai, with damage caused to the vehicle, but no one injured
The road was closed in both directions due to the incident, with the entrances at Saltbrook Road and Maypole Hill closed and diversions in place.
Although the news of a shooting on their street astonished the locals, they claimed not to be unduly concerned because it seemed like an isolated incidence.
“I saw the drive cordoned off with police tape when I went outside to walk the dog, and I later found out about what had happened,” stated one of the residents.
“I’m a little bit surprised it’s happened, but I’m not worried as I’ve lived here since October and found it to be a quiet area, so I feel safe.”
“I’m a little worried about it because I have a daughter, but it’s also the first time something like this has happened in six years,” stated another resident.
“It’s more interesting for my daughter, as she’s seven years old and really inquisitive, so she wants to know what’s going on and the police had a good chat with her about it.”
Anyone with information is urged to contact the force as soon as possible by calling 101 or using Live Chat on the West Midlands Police website.
