A Totton man was sentenced for his theft spree at Morrisons and Asda, during which he stole merchandise valued at about £300.
Today, May 23, Joseph Daniel Arnold, 33, made his court appearance at Southampton Magistrates’ Court following several incidences that transpired between March 6 and April 30.
He entered a guilty plea to five charges of shoplifting from Morrisons on Spruce Drive and Asda on Maynard Road.
A total of articles valued at £296.76 were taken.
Judges fined him £120 and mandated that he pay £86.76 in damages.
In addition, he received a community order and needs to participate in rehabilitation activities.
Four males have been taken into custody on allegations of attempting to steal from a car.
Just before one in the morning on Wednesday, April 3, the men—all from Leeds, ages 24, 27, 27, and 38—were taken into custody on the A34 in Sutton Scotney.
It comes following a report of an armed break-in at a truck on Totton’s Nutwood Way just after 11 p.m. yesterday (Tuesday, April 2).
Additionally, the 38-year-old guy was taken into custody on suspicion of operating a vehicle with a percentage of a designated restricted substance above the allowed limit.
At this point, all four males are still being held by the authorities.
