In order to get some of the additional attacking capabilities he has been searching for for the upcoming campaign, Graham Alexander has turned to center-back Aden Baldwin.
Following his release from Notts County, the 26-year-old Baldwin signed a two-year contract.

Baldwin’s self-description as “a mobile center-back and I also like to play with the ball at my feet, out from the back” was noteworthy.

“I like to perform in front of large audiences and lots of fans, so hopefully that allows me to play at my best level,” he continued. I am really excited to play here for this club because I was not able to do so last year.

In his two years at Meadow Lane, Baldwin started 66 games in the league, including Bradford’s 4-2 loss there in November early in manager Alexander’s tenure.

Alexander expressed his excitement at adding a player with Aden’s calibre to the team.

“He possesses outstanding defensive qualities, and his adeptness in the air will add an additional element to our offensive play.

He is an additional player who has been promoted. I’m glad he made the decision to join us in our endeavour, and I know his teammates and our supporters will value his contributions.

Baldwin, who went through the Forest Green Rovers academy, signed with Bristol City in the Championship in 2016 but did not play in the first team. Before settling down permanently to join Milton Keynes Dons, ahead of Alexander’s tenure there, he was on loan from the Robins to Weston-super-Mare, Cheltenham Town, and Eastleigh.

He was promoted back to the Football League at Notts County in 2023 after Chesterfield was defeated on penalties. In the semi-final matchup with Boreham Wood, he scored twice.
