As the countdown to the new season begins, Celtic is already making a good start to their preseason schedule.

In honour of the opening of their new North Stand, Brendan Rodgers’ team is scheduled to play Ayr United at Somerset Park on July 5. This will likely lead to a reunion between the Irishman and his former captain, Scott Brown.
Of course, there’s also the possibility that the Bhoys will travel to the States later this month, when they have three glamorous matches against DC United, Manchester City, and Chelsea.

As the club gets ready for what should be another entertaining season, they have now announced their fifth friendly of the preseason calendar.

Celtic FC confirmed earlier today that on Wednesday, July 10th, at The city Stadium (also known as Lesser Hampden), they will play Scottish Championship team Queens Park. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:45 p.m.

After their match against Ayr United, the Hoops will have the chance to get some excellent practice before travelling to the United States in this first meeting between the two Glasgow teams since 2009.
The city Stadium can hold about 900 spectators, according to the team website, therefore there won’t be a “public sale” of away tickets for fans to snatch up.
