According to Love Rugby League, Stefan Ratchford has agreed to a new one-year contract with Warrington Wolves, extending his 13-year tenure with the Super League team.

Ratchford, a Warrington mainstay since arriving from Salford at the end of 2011, is a club legend. He has appeared in over 330 shows for the Wire.

The 35-year-old, who has been in and out of Sam Burgess’ starting lineup this season, has an expiration date of December 31, 2024. He was not present at the Challenge Cup final last weekend, where Roderick Tai was preferred in the centres alongside Toby King, and he was named as 18th man.

However, Love Rugby League is aware that Ratchford has decided to extend his contract with Warrington by another year and will remain at the Halliwell Jones Stadium.

In 2025, Stefan Ratchford will play for Warrington Wolves for a record 14 seasons.

Ratchford, a junior at Wigan St Patricks who was born and raised in Wigan, Greater Manchester, joined Salford in 2005.

Ratchford, who can play centre, fullback, and in the halves, joined the Red Devils in 2007 and made his debut. Before joining the Wolves, he participated in more than 100 games for the team.

At Warrington, where he has excelled, Ratchford has made four appearances in the Super League Grand Final. When the Wolves overcame St. Helens in 2019, he and the Wire won a Challenge Cup.

The outside back who loves to score goals has also been recognised internationally, receiving six caps for England from 2016 to 2018. He competed for England in the 2017 World Cup in Australia.

Ratchford has been in and out of Warrington’s XVII this season. In eight appearances in 2024, he has recorded two try assists and two scores.
