An attack in Sheffield has prompted an investigation.

When police arrived at Darnall on Saturday afternoon, they discovered a 23-year-old who had suffered severe head injuries.

Police are now urging anyone who has footage from a dash cam to come forward.

According to a police statement:

“Yesterday, June 8, at 4:36 p.m., the ambulance service contacted to report a serious assault on Staniforth Road in the Sheffield neighbourhood of Darnall.

“After being beaten, a 23-year-old guy sustained severe head injuries. After being brought to the hospital, the 23-year-old’s condition is still critical.

“Staniforth Road was temporarily closed yesterday as law enforcement personnel worked, but it has since reopened.

To determine the incident’s circumstances, a team of officers is conducting a number of in-depth inquiries as part of an ongoing investigation.

Over the upcoming days, the area will be patrolled by our neighbourhood cops. It is recommended for anyone with issues to stop and speak with the cops, who are there to serve the community.

“At this point, we are pleading for everyone who has knowledge to come forward. Please get in contact if you were in the vicinity at the time of the event and have dashcam or CCTV evidence that can help the authorities with their investigation.
