Emergency services were called to the tracks near Broughty Ferry late on Saturday night. Network Rail have since confirmed the fatality with services restored on Sunday morning.

Sunday saw the reinstatement of regular rail services between Aberdeen and Dundee following a person’s Saturday night collision with a train.

Following the incident, emergency personnel raced to the tracks near Broughty Ferry at approximately 10.45 p.m.

ScotRail cancelled trains late last night after Network Rail confirmed there had been a casualty on the line.

Services have return to normal on Sunday morning after the line was closed while emergency services dealt with the tragic incident, writes the Daily Record.

Travellers were informed on social media by ScotRail officials that there would be disruptions to services between Arbroath and Dundee until they ended.

Around seven in the morning on Sunday, Scotrail reported that services had resumed. We’ve reached out to British Transport Police and Network Rail for comments.
