Callum Styles has announced that, despite a little injury setback, he will represent Hungary at the European Championships this summer.
This summer, Sunderland will have the opportunity to permanently purchase the 24-year-old from Barnsley. During the 2023–24 season, he made 12 Championship appearances for the Black Cats while on loan.
Styles has represented Hungary in 22 games, earning him the right to represent the nation of his mother’s birth. Last month, they announced their 26-man roster for the European Championship. After that, the adaptable midfield player sustained an injury and was replaced during last week’s friendly victory over Israel; however, he has allayed fears in the lead-up to the event.

Hungary’s opening game is scheduled on Saturday, June 17, against Switzerland. The country is in Group A with hosts Germany, Scotland, and Hungary.
Styles has frequently featured in centre midfield for Hungary, despite spending the majority of his time playing as a full-back or wing-back for Sunderland.
