“Delighted to have signed for King’s Lynn,” left back Freddie Sass told the club’s official channels. “It’s been a goal of mine to go full-time for a while now and when the opportunity came up it was a no-brainer for me.” A veteran of the National League North, Sass, 22, joined Southport last September and then spent a season on loan at Macclesfield before joining Marine in January.
I was drawn to the club because, based on our discussion with Adam, it appears that we are headed in the right direction and intend to compete at the highest levels.
“I’m excited for the new challenge and can’t wait to get going.”
“He’s a left back; he’ll be a left wing back for us,” Lakeland said. He possesses a terrific turn of pace, good mobility, and the ability to work both up and down the pitch.
“When he crosses, he sends excellent balls from a wide range; his delivery is excellent. He can throw long, which may occasionally provide us with an alternative weapon during games.
Every time I have seen him play, he is a really dedicated player. I’ve been a fan of this player for a long time. When I worked at Curzon, I made an attempt to contact him in Mossley before he moved to Southport.
“Undoubtedly, things didn’t quite work out for him there; it probably didn’t help that the manager who had signed him left quite early on and that he had a difficult start to the previous season.
However, I believe he did a fantastic job finishing it; he clearly contributed significantly to Marine’s promotion to the National League North, and I have no doubt that he will give the team his all going forward. I’m also happy that we were able to bring him over the finish line.”
Ross Crane from Leiston, Tim Wilson from FC Halifax Town, and central defender Greg Taylor, who was on loan in the second half of the season, have already joined with Lakeland.
