Leigh Leopards sign powerhouse NRL prop

Pene is scheduled to arrive in the UK in the near future and will be available to make his Leopards debut on June 21 against Leeds Rhinos in the Betfred Super League Round 15.

After making an impression in the Queensland Cup, the 28-year-old powerful prop earned his NRL debut for Melbourne Storm in the 2020 campaign. The Melbourne crew moved to Queensland in order to assist in overcoming the obstacles caused by the pandemic.

He played one season in 2022 for the New Zealand Warriors before returning to Melbourne the previous year. He has played in thirty-six NRL games.

Pene, who is of German and Samoan descent and was born in Sydney, was a junior player for the Canterbury Bulldogs and Parramatta Eels. most recently participated in the Queensland Cup for Sunshine Coast, and Melbourne Storm released him to seek a career in the UK.
