The goalie has never managed more than 26 league appearances in a single season for Sheffield Wednesday since making his first-team debut in October 2016.
In fact, he only managed to accumulate 20 points in all competitions throughout the most recent season, and that was back in January when he was dropped back to second place behind James Beadle.
Dawson should probably be playing more frequently than that at his age, and because he hasn’t really done so for Sheffield Wednesday, it might be difficult for him to make a difference if he stays there.
Ben Hamer, who joined the Owls after leaving Watford, is the only custodian the team has signed this summer.
Dawson was ahead of him while on loan from Brighton last season, so it seems they are eager to bring James Beadle back, thus Dawson would probably be lower on the list at Hillsborough once more.
In contrast, Matthew Cox, who returned to Brentford after a loan at The Memorial Stadium, means that Bristol Rovers will not have a custodian this summer.
