Around five o’clock in the evening, Birmingham Police responded to reports of “disorder” on High Street in Erdington and discovered a man who had been stabbed.


After a vicious knife attack that happened on Erdington High Street yesterday in broad daylight, a man is fighting for his life in the hospital. Following the incident, which began at around 5 o’clock in the evening, police cordoned off the entire area surrounding Six Ways.

A man who had “suffered a knife injury” was discovered by Birmingham Police officers who responded to reports of “disorder” on the busy street in Erdington at 5:10 p.m. After being brought to the hospital, his condition is described as “life-threatening.”

Police announced that they had taken into custody a man for the suspected dual charges of intentional wounding and possessing a bladed article, less than six hours after the horrific knife crime. The cordon on Erdington stays in place during the night.

After seeing Erdington High Street blocked off, a local who was taken aback posted on social media, stating, “There’s been another incident on Erdington High Street. There are too many idiots in Erdington, he needs to be sorted out ASAP!”
“We’ve arrested a man after being called to reports of a disorder on Erdington High Street at about 5.10 today,” the police statement in its entirety states. When the police arrived, they discovered a man who had been cut with a knife. He was brought to the hospital, and it is our understanding that his condition is life-threatening.”

Only two weeks prior, Erdington High Street was subject to a similar cordon following a man’s detention. Birmingham Police announced the arrest at the time, stating: “We’ve arrested a man after being called to reports of a disorder on Erdington High Street at about 5.10pm today.”

“When officers arrived, they discovered a man who had been cut with a knife. He was brought to the hospital, and from what we’ve heard, his condition is critical.

“Shortly after, police detained a man on suspicion of intentionally injuring someone and possessing a weapon. As forensic experts continue their investigation, a portion of Erdington High Street has been blocked off while we stay at the scene.”
