Domenico Tedesco, the manager of Belgium, benched Trossard in favour of Dodi Lukebakio of Sevilla, who began on the right.

Furthermore, Trossard found it difficult to resemble the player who has been performing well for Mikel Arteta, even after being brought on in the 56th minute.

Trossard’s 17 goals in all competitions this season for Arsenal explains why he was able to displace Gabriel Martinelli in the starting lineup.

Despite Trossard’s goals for Belgium prior to the competition, that form hasn’t been repeated for his nation in Euro 2024.

In the last two warm-up matches, the 29-year-old scored goals against both Montenegro and Luxembourg, but his scoring form hasn’t persisted.

Nevertheless, Trossard’s father is now furious with Tedesco and holds the manager of Belgium accountable for his son’s difficulties during the competition.

Dad of Leandro Trossard claims the manager of Belgium is to blame for his lacklustre performance at the Euros.

Before Belgium’s match against Romania on Saturday began, Pierre Trossard was speaking with De Morgen, possibly aware that his son would not be playing.

Furthermore, Trossard senior maintained that Tedesco was at fault while also asserting that he wasn’t a suitable match for the national team.

Leandro is criticised, but he was moved to a different position. It’s hard to maintain your game’s guidelines in these circumstances,  he stated.

Even if Tedesco lacks Roberto Martínez’s rigidity, I don’t think he’s a good coach for Belgium.

Many did, of course, believe that Trossard would be a crucial player in Germany given his excellent finish to the season at Arsenal.

However, after substituting Lukebakio for Trossard, as previously indicated, Tedesco was allowed to start Jeremy Doku of Manchester City at left wing, which is his preferred position.

Xavi Simons and Nico Williams, the Euro 2024 team, are of interest to Arsenal.

Although it would be unfair to argue that Trossard’s substitution was the reason for Belgium’s quick start and the 2-0 victory, Tedesco will feel justified in his choice, particularly in light of Trossard’s subpar performance.

It’s interesting to note that Trossard’s difficulties coincide with Arsenal being strongly linked to a couple of talented wingers.

If reports are to be accepted, Nico Williams of Athletic Bilbao and Xavi Simons of Paris Saint-Germain are both very much on the radar.

Perhaps thankfully for Arsenal, Simons just informed PSG that he intends to depart the team following the conclusion of Euro 2024.
