Chelsea is interested in highly rated Al-Ahli midfielder Gabri Veiga, who has just been with the Saudi team for six months.

Last summer, several prominent European teams pursued the 21-year-old after he made waves with his former club Celta Vigo.

Veiga was pursued by Liverpool, Newcastle, Paris Saint-Germain, Barcelona, and Real Madrid, but he eventually signed a lucrative contract with Al-Ahli.

He has since made 17 appearances for the Saudi club, with four assists and four goals.

Chelsea may need to sign a new midfielder as two of its current midfielders, Conor Gallagher and Enzo Fernandez, are expected to leave the club.

Tottenham are interested in Gallagher, and some Blues officials believe the club should transfer the player to help with its financial difficulties.

Enzo Fernandez may be willing to leave at the end of the season, according to sources. Although his exorbitant price will make it difficult to find a buyer, his representatives are actively looking for a new club.

Should one of the two leave Stamford Bridge, Veiga may be a dependable long-term successor.

According to Fichajes, Chelsea is anticipated to be among the clubs interested in signing Veiga if he decides to return to Europe after a year in Saudi Arabia.

Real Madrid and Barcelona are also “admirers” of the outstanding young athlete who unexpectedly chose to join the Saudi Pro League last summer.

Veiga helped Celta Vigo avoid relegation from La Liga before joining the Saudi team for a €30 million transfer fee.

Despite the fact that his contract expires in 2026, speculation is that he is dissatisfied in Saudi Arabia.
