Augustus Kargbo, a striker for Cesena, is reportedly a target for Blackburn Rovers, according a report from Italian publication TuttoMercato.
In an attempt to bolster their roster, Blackburn Rovers are rumoured to be considering a transfer window raid for the attacker. They are gearing up for another season in the Championship after defeating promoted Leicester City on the road to stay up on the last day of the previous campaign.

In the previous season, Kargbo, 24, made 33 appearances in all competitions and contributed 10 goals and 11 assists to help Cesena advance from Serie C to Serie B. His present team isn’t under any pressure to trade for him just yet because his contract at Stadio Dino Manuzzi expires in 2026.

TuttoMercato claims that Rovers are eager to entice him to England for the summer. As they prepare for their first full term under the direction of former Birmingham City manager John Eustace, they have designated him as a target.

Kargbo may be seen by Blackburn Rovers as a way to increase depth and competition in their attacking unit.

Although he has recently been playing in the Italian third division, he has produced respectable stats.
The international player from Sierra Leone, who has already earned 17 caps, began his career in Serie D at Campobasso.
After that, in 2018, he was signed by Crotone, where he played for five years at the Stadio Comunale Ezio Scida, tallying six goals in 67 games.

To further advance his career and gain some experience, Kargbo was also loaned out to Roccella and Reggiani.

Twelve months ago, Cesena snatched him up, and he hasn’t looked back.

He has become as one of their most important players, but during the coming weeks, they might have to fight to hold onto him.

For Blackburn Rovers, what comes next?
In order to compete at a better level the next time around, Blackburn Rovers must make sure that their hiring decisions are sound.

Kargbo would provide them something new and different from what they already have, giving them another choice moving forward.
