Police name man found dead in Balby

At approximately 4.30 am on Friday, Christopher Cumpsty, 43, was found at his residence in Cross Street, Balby.

After being detained on suspicion of murder on Saturday, a 41-year-old woman was released on bond until more investigation was conducted.

The investigating officer, Det Ch Insp Victoria Short, requested assistance from the general public.

“Now that Christopher Cumpsty has been officially identified, we would like to make a new request for information or witnesses,” the speaker stated.

His post-mortem revealed that he had suffered multiple injuries, and we need your assistance in identifying the perpetrators of this crime.

We would like to track down Christopher’s final known movements in the week or so before he passed away as part of our investigation.
