Andy Dallas, a forward for Barnsley, has completed his transfer to Barrow, a League Two team, for the 2024–2025 season.
The 24-year-old will now sign up with Barrow ahead of the forthcoming League Two season after spending the entirety of the previous campaign out on loan in both the SPFL and the National League.
How did Dallas fare last season?
Dallas made four more appearances for the League One team before being loaned out to SPFL team Kilmarnock. Dallas scored on his debut for the team during a 7-0 thumping of Port Vale after joining the team.
Dallas, who was born in Scotland, made a total of 15 appearances for the football team, but despite only making two starts, he was unable to help the team score.
After being called back in January, the forward joined Oldham Athletic of the National League, where he played in 14 more games but was primarily used as a substitute.
What can Dallas bring to Barrow?
Dallas’ 2021/22 and 2022/23 seasons demonstrate that, despite his lack of starts in the previous year, he is a dependable goal scorer and capable of leading the line when needed.
He scored seven goals in 14 games for Chesterfield in addition to his 34 goals in 83 games for Solihull Moors, which helped the team advance to the National League play-off final.
Dallas adds extra versatility to his game by being able to play as a left winger or striker depending on the situation. He has EFL experience with teams like Cambridge United.
Does Dallas have a good move here?
For any player this summer, the chance to play a big part for a team that just missed out on a play-off spot the previous year is undoubtedly an exciting one.
Pete Wild is no longer in charge of Barrow, but the team has already started making arrangements to advance next season.
In contrast to his last two loan stints, Dallas will probably get the chance to play regular first-team minutes in League Two and dispel any sceptics.
