Update after a Deven driver killed a man and ran away in a crash

Witness appeal to help identify the driver of a light blue Mini

The driver of a light blue Mini is wanted by police after a deadly crash in Devon. On Friday, June 21st, at about 7:30 p.m., emergency services were dispatched to Sidmouth Road in Honiton due to a single-vehicle collision involving a silver Vauxhall Meriva.

Two of the car’s occupants, who were both in their 80s, suffered critical injuries. Sadly, a man who was a passenger in the incident passed away in the hospital. The woman’s wounds are not thought to be potentially fatal.

The driver of a Mini that was following the Vauxhall is someone that Devon and Cornwall Police are very eager to talk with. They are currently pleading with any witnesses to come forward.

According to a spokeswoman, “Investigating officers are currently looking for the driver and passengers of a light blue Mini that was travelling directly behind the Meriva. It’s thought that they may have seen the collision and could be able to provide information to the investigation.

“The two passengers—a local woman and a guy in their 80s—were brought to the hospital after suffering severe injuries. Unfortunately, the man’s injuries from the crash have now taken his life. The woman’s wounds are not thought to be potentially fatal.

Police are asking anyone with dashcam footage or pertinent information that could help with the inquiry to get in touch with them by calling 101 and mentioning log 789 of June 21st, or by visiting this website.
