Sevilla is diving headfirst into the summer transfer window in search of low-cost acquisitions that can help them go back into the top four spots in La Liga.
On Monday afternoon, one such possible transfer came to light as Sevilla looked to replace a number of high-profile midfield departures.

ElDesmarque reports that Saúl Ñíguez, a veteran of Atletico Madrid who has been told he needs to look for a new club, is now under contract with Sevilla.

According to reports, negotiations are in progress, and Saúl is eager to join the team. He may even be willing to take a pay cut to expedite the transfer and include him in the pre-season activities.

The largest obstacle to a deal is the player’s salary, as most people cannot afford his €15 million season compensation.
The 29-year-old still has a lot to offer after making 49 appearances for Los Rojiblancos in the last campaign, but his exorbitant salary has probably sped up his departure from the team.

As negotiations between the two teams continue, the coming days may prove to be critical in completing this transaction.
