Max Boruc, the Hibernian custodian, is being considered for a trial by Swindon Town, according to the Daily Record.
Swindon Town is evaluating a possible transfer ahead of the upcoming campaign by watching the Scottish Premiership player in training. They are in the lookout for some more signings this summer as they prepare for life under former Lincoln City coach Mark Kennedy.

Boruc, 21, is still under contract at Hibernian, but he has been granted permission to try his luck at the County Ground since he is not popular with the Edinburgh team. Although his contract at Easter Road ends in 2025, there is currently uncertainty surrounding his long-term future in the Scottish Premiership.

According to the Daily Record’s most recent report on his circumstances, the athlete is now being evaluated by the Robins. They placed a depressing 19th in the previous campaign’s standings.

Swindon Town could see Boruc as someone to add more competition and depth to their goalkeeping department.

He still has plenty of time on his side and potential to develop down the line.

He had stints at Husqvarna FF, Värnamo Södra FF, and IFK Värnamo throughout the beginning of his career in Sweden.

The 6′ 5′′ Boruc then spent time at West Brom and Stoke City before being signed by Śląsk Wrocław in 2021.

He later developed into a vital member of the Polish B team’s II liga squad.

Hibernian landed him in June last year on a two-year deal and he went on to play three games for them last term under their ex-boss Lee Johnson.

He fell down the pecking order under Nick Montgomery though and was shipped out to Arbroath on loan.

What next?

Boruc has played for a lot of clubs for someone of his age and could do with laying down some roots somewhere.

He may not be able to be a regular number one for Swindon Town yet but he would certainly provide cover if they decide to give him a deal.
