Officers were called out this morning (July 17) after the discovery

A man’s body has been found near a high street in Kent. Police have confirmed officers were called out after the discovery was made in Granville Place, Sheerness, this morning (July 17).

Kent Police said the man was confirmed dead at the scene. No further details have been shared by police but the force said his next of kin have been informed.

The death is not being treated as suspicious. Police said a report will now be prepared for the coroner.

A police spokesperson said: “Kent Police was called at 9.41am on Wednesday, July 17 after the body of man was located in Granville Place, Sheerness. Officers attended and the man was confirmed deceased.

“His next of kin have been informed. The death is not being treated as suspicious and a report is being prepared for the coroner.”
