Wales & West Utilities is returning to perform additional work in the Monkton Combe neighbourhood of Bath following work done to upgrade gas pipes last summer.

Brassknocker Hill, Church Lane and Trollope’s Hill were closed at various points throughout the project last summer, but the pipeline and gas emergency services stated further work was needed to complete the project.

The current schedule for the work is Wednesday, July 24, to Tuesday, August 13.

Following discussions with Bath & North East Somerset Council, Trollope’s Hill road closure is scheduled to take place during this time, according to Wales & West Utilities.

It is advised that drivers plan ahead for additional time.

Simon Lee of Wales & West Utilities, who is overseeing this project, stated: “To limit disruption to nearby road users, the last portion of work has been scheduled over the school holidays.

Although we are aware that operating in places like these is not ideal, it is imperative that we maintain the gas supply to the local homes and businesses and ensure that the gas network is suitable for the future.

“Throughout the project, a team of gas engineers will be on site to ensure that our work is finished as swiftly and safely as feasible while causing the least amount of interruption possible.
