A Swindon woman has been killed in a crash involving a motorbike near Cirencester.

Emergency services responded to a single-vehicle road traffic collision on the B4425 in Barnsley shortly before 8pm yesterday (Tuesday, 30 July).

A motorcyclist had left the road and hit a tree, causing the rider significant injuries.

The woman, aged in her 40s and from Swindon, was pronounced dead at the scene a short time later.

“Her next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specially trained officers”, a Gloucestershire Constabulary spokesperson said.

“Road closures remain in place while collision investigation work is conducted between the B4425 Welsh Way and from the junction with the A417,” the statement continues.

“Those who have dashcam footage they feel may be relevant, or who witnessed the collision and have not yet spoken to police, are encouraged to speak with investigating officers.”

By filling an online form and mentioning incident 437 of July 30, one can submit information to the police.
