A 62-year-old man has died following a fire in Farnborough.Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service were called to a flat fire in Sullivan Close at 08:38 on Monday morning (January 21).Three crews from Rushmoor Fire Station and one crew from Surrey Fire and Rescue Service attended the incident in the front room of a two-storey building.The firefighters used four sets of breathing apparatus, two jets, two hose reels and tactical ventilation to extinguish the fire. The stop message was received at 09:34.The man was brought out of the property by fire crews who administered emergency first aid before being confirmed dead at the scene by South East Coast Ambulance Service.A fire investigation will now take place to establish the cause.Smoke alarms provide valuable early warning of a fire, allowing families to get out, stay out and call 999.
