A man has sadly died following a collision with a tram in Wythenshawe.
On Friday night (January 13), emergency services were seen on Poundswick Lane following the fatal incident. Sadly the man, aged 29, died at the scene.
The driver of the tram remained to assist officers with their enquiries. Members of the public are advised to avoid the area.
In a statement, Greater Manchester Police said: “At around 8:25pm this evening (Friday 13 January 2023), officers were called to reports of a collision involving a tram and a pedestrian.
“Sadly when emergency services attended the scene, the 29-year-old male pedestrian had passed away.
“The driver remained at the scene to assist officers enquiries. A scene will remain in place.”
Transport for Greater Manchester and Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service have been approached for further information.
