The incident occurred today, September 2, and drivers are being warned to avoid the area.
Emergency services are currently dealing with the situation.
In a post on social media, Cumbria Police wrote: “A vehicle has collided with a stone wall and the Eastbound carriageway is blocked between Causeway Foot and Fisher Place
Emergency Services are at the scene dealing with the incident. Please avoid the area until the road is made safe.”
