Detectives have launched a murder investigation following the death of a man in Huddersfield.
Officers were called to an address in Park Road in the Crosland Moor area of Huddersfield at about 8.19pm on Thursday September 5 after a report was received of a sudden death.
The body of a 59-year-old man was found at the property. He was found to have suffered serious injuries.
Today a police spokesman said: “Following these enquiries officers from the Homicide and Major Enquiry Team have now launched a murder investigation and are appealing for further information.”
Senior Investigating Officer, Detective Chief Inspector Michael Cox, said: “We have extensive enquiries ongoing into this incident and would like to hear from anyone who witnessed or heard any suspicious activity in the Park Road area on Thursday afternoon or early evening.
“We understand this incident will cause some concern in the community and officers are conducting reassurance patrols in the area.”
