St. Petersburg – According to various reports that they got on Saturday night, a car struck a structure and started fire, St. Petersburg Fire Rescue says.

Initial reports stated that the car and the structure in the 7200 block of 30th Ave N were on fire, according to SPFR. Witnesses reported seeing flames and hearing explosions.

Officials claim that firefighters were able to determine that the fire was contained to the car when they arrived. At approximately 10:30 p.m., the firefighters managed to contain the fire.

Firefighters report that although the building’s outside sustained damage, the fire did not move inside.

Authorities said that AC units outside the building caught fire and sustained damage. There were reports of explosions from the vicinity when the air conditioning equipment took fire.

Firefighters verified that nobody was inside the car or structure after conducting a search.
