Following a collision between Wesham’s Junction 3 and Preston’s Junction 2, traffic was forced to a complete stop.
When the collision was reported at around 3 p.m., National Highways traffic officers, the fire department, and the ambulance service arrived on the scene.
According to the police, an automobile veered off the carriageway and onto the grass verge. There were no reported injuries.
Since then, one lane has remained restricted while traffic has been released. There has been a warning to drivers to expect delays.
“Traffic is held on the M55 eastbound between junction three in Wesham and junction two in Preston due to a traffic collision,” a National Highways representative stated. Fire, ambulance, and National Highways traffic officers are on the site. Apologies for any inconvenience; we appreciate your patience.
After an earlier collision, traffic has now been released on the M55 eastbound. Out of the three, lane one is still closed. We appreciate your patience and ask that you please be patient.
“It was a car leaving the carriageway and ending up on the grass verge,” a police official stated. No harm done.
