Hull FC has revealed that 14 players, including star Liam Sutcliffe, who is headed to the Huddersfield Giants, will leave the team at the end of the current campaign.

But according to Hull’s press release, “he will be released from the remainder of his contract to take up an opportunity with another Super League club,” thus it looks like the 29-year-old will be wearing a Huddersfield shirt in 2025.

Veteran players Danny Houghton and Carlos Tuimavave had previously been confirmed to leave the MKM Stadium at the conclusion of the season.

Legendary player Houghton, who has played his whole career for his home team, will retire after Saturday’s home league game against Catalans Dragons.

In the meantime, Tuimavave, who joined FC in 2016, is leaving for new pastures. His next stop has not yet been made public.

Additionally, it was previously announced that Wakefield will welcome Jake Trueman in 2025 after the half-back signed a three-year contract with Belle Vue. Later this month, he will have the opportunity to represent Trinity in the Championship play-offs.

And Hull has formally validated what we already knew, which is that after Saturday’s match against Catalans at the MKM Stadium, four loanees would be going back to their parent clubs.

King Vuniyayawa will rejoin Salford Red Devils, Tiaki Chan and Sam Eseh will return to Wigan Warriors, while Leon Ruan will rejoin parent team Leeds Rhinos.

Along with the announcement that Sutcliffe would be leaving, it was confirmed that academy product Charlie Severs and Fiji international Mitieli Vulikijapani would be moving on to new and better places.

Outside-back Before making his FC debut, Vulikijapani, 30, played twice on loan for Bradford Bulls after joining Hull from the armed forces in 2021.

After two seasons severely handicapped by injuries, he will depart the club with 24 appearances for the Airlie Birds, playing just one game in 2023 and not making an appearance at all this term.

Meanwhile, in July 2022, Severs made his senior debut in the Hull derby against rivals KR, appearing twice at the senior level. He made six appearances on loan for Championship team York this season in addition to making one appearance for the Black and Whites in Super League.
