When the Cats play the Suns, they really need to find their form.

If the Cats are to have any impact on finals, they need to get a move on this weekend.

The Cats are the only team to challenge North Melbourne this season, even after losing to the Blues and Melbourne; they held the Roos to a draw in a match they had dominated.

Star midfielder Georgie Prespakis, who entered the season underdone because of the same muscle, will miss her second game of the season owing to a quad injury.

This year’s ruck division is lighter thanks to the retirement of Erin Hoare and the work commitments of Liv Fuller, who have been replaced by relieving ruck Kate Darby and 170cm Gabbi Featherston, who is making a valiant effort despite playing outside of her weight division.

“The Cats were the team who improved the most the previous season, pushing Brisbane all the way to a preliminary final. “This was one of the worst games I’ve seen them play under Dan Lowther, so they would have been really disappointed,” Sarah Black stated on The W Show.

“They didn’t adjust to the conditions at all, they got inside their own head, they were panicking and only kicked the five points.”

While the Cats are only averaging 2.8 fewer inside 50s this season than they were last, their offensive rating has decreased from 9.0 to 2.7.

Chloe Scheer, an All-Australian forward, is one of Geelong’s finest marks front of centre and is quite powerful despite not being the tallest player on the list.

She only has a vague return date of “second half of the season” after missing a few weeks due to a toe injury.

Although she is only in her first year of playing the sport, let alone the elite AFLW, Irish forward Kate Kenny has performed in her role.

Played a few games at the beginning of the year that were certainly not the best in terms of the weather and definitely not the best in terms of getting scores inside the fifty. However, Melbourne speciality coach and premiership key forward Ben Brown stated that “the more you can connect inside 50, [the more] you get those easy shots at goal.”

“Aishling Moloney and Jackie Parry, in particular, have pleased me this season, so I don’t believe they’ve had a bad start, but they’ll be aiming to score more.

“I think that’s where the midfielders can do a little bit of work on their delivery inside 50.”
