Additional information about the guy detained by a Nevada State trooper in connection with the suspected abduction and murder of a St. George woman and her three children in August has been made public.

After being arrested onĀ  David Gene Remley, the suspect, was being held at Lander County Jail. On September 11, he was brought back to Utah and registered into Washington County Purgatory Correctional Facility. He is charged with multiple first-degree felonies, one count of aggravated kidnapping and three counts of kidnapping of children. As previously reported by St. George News, he is accused of robbing Brittany Deal and her three children out of a St. George day care.

One week following Remley’s arrest, an arrest warrant to extradite him to Utah was filed. According to the warrant, which was issued five days after Remley’s arrest, detectives were called in to investigate a domestic violence-related incident.

According to investigators, Deal had not been seen or heard from since picking up her kids from the creche when emergency dispatch received a call asking for a welfare check on her. According to the reporting party, they were unable to get in touch with Deal since her phone was turned off. The discovery of her home’s front door ajar piqued the suspicions of the officers.

In addition to the domestic abuse episode that occurred earlier, Deal and her three children were reported missing in the national crime database.

Detectives learnt later that day that Remley had been traced by a Nevada State Police officer, who told St. George authorities that Deal and her children had been discovered dead. After that, Remley was arrested in Nevada in accordance with the warrant.

Detectives discovered through a series of interviews that Remley had allegedly beaten Deal several times before the incident and had plotted to keep her from appearing in court in the hopes that the charges would be dropped.

Remley allegedly showed up to Deal’s residence the morning of the alleged kidnapping and informed her that “she and the kids needed to leave with him immediately.”

Remley allegedly assaulted Deal after dropping the kids off at creche, which was discovered by the doorbell.

This report may not include all of the conclusions because it is based on testimony from responders, police, and court documents. Until proven guilty in a legal proceeding or as determined differently by a trier of fact, everyone who has been detained or accused is presumed innocent.
