Derby County star handed eight-match ban for…

Milutin Osmajic, a striker for Preston, received an eight-match suspension for biting Blackburn defender Owen Beck during a September Championship match.

Milutin Osmajic of Preston has been suspended for eight matches for biting an opponent. The 25-year-old bit Blackburn Rovers loanee Owen Beck, a defender for Liverpool.

Osmajic was not punished during the game, but Beck was sent off in the 87th minute for kicking out at Duane Holmes, which led to a conflict. Todd Cantwell had initially fouled the Montenegrin striker, and Beck had intercepted Holmes as he tried to clear the ball.

Then Osmajic stood up and took Beck by the arms, seemingly putting his face in touch with his opponent’s neck. Beck was heard remarking, “He bit me,” to referee Matthew Donohue.
Osmajic is currently facing a fine and a ban as his punishment after an investigation. In an April 2014 Liverpool match against Chelsea, Luis Suarez bit Branislav Ivanovic, earning him a 10-match suspension.

Suarez said at the time that his violent behaviour did not deserve a suspension of more than three games. Preston North End’s Milutin Osmajic received an eight-match suspension and a £15,000 fine from the Football Association (FA) for his misconduct during their EFL Championship match against Blackburn Rovers on Sunday, September 22. The forward acknowledged that he bit an opponent in the 87th minute, which was a violent act, according to the Mirror.

After a hearing, an impartial Regulatory Commission issued his sanctions. Its written justifications will be released when appropriate.”
Preston North End has announced the striker’s ban and penalties in response to the findings of an independent regulatory commission. “We acknowledge the decision of an independent Regulatory Commission to fine Milutin Osmajicā £15,000 and subject him to an eight-match suspension,” the statement stated.”
