It wouldn’t be shocking to see the Gunners rekindle their interest in the defender after they showed interest in him earlier in the season.
Since assuming a leading role, Harvey Knibbs has undergone a transformation, and Sam Smith, his accomplice, has also performed admirably since returning to the Select Car Leasing Stadium.
Both players were wise additions that came after their stints at Cambridge United ended.
Lewis Wing has been even more outstanding this season, changing the game in the middle of the park, but that was to be expected given his performance for Wycombe Wanderers the previous season.
In a similar vein, Wing has shown himself to be increasingly impressive this season, having scored a fantastic goal against Port Vale midweek. He has also been able to quickly adjust to life in Berkshire.
Though he is only 19 years old, Tyler Bindon has likely exceeded expectations the most by playing some very mature shifts at the back.
The center-back, who is still 11 months away from turning 20, has a lot of room to grow and has already had an impact for New Zealand at the senior international level.
Even though the Royals’ dire circumstances have aided him on the pitch, he has every right to be incredibly proud of his accomplishments thus far.
Circumstances have helped Tyler Bindon to thrive at Reading FC
Scott Dann and Liam Moore left the club when their contracts expired, and Naby Sarr also completed his relocation out of Berkshire.
This, along with the club’s challenging transfer ban, made it possible for Bindon to enter and immediately establish himself in the starting lineup.
Additionally, the January transfer window saw Nelson Abbey and Tom McIntyre go to Olympiacos and Portsmouth, increasing his chances of earning regular starts.
Tom Holmes may have been immediately loaned back to Luton Town following his transfer, but an injury has forced him to the sidelines.
This move by Abbey gave Bindon a lifeline, as the two had been starting quite a bit together prior to the former’s move.

Despite his luck, Bindon has also earned some of that luck.
He has performed superbly for much of the season – and particularly in recent times.
Bindon may not be the quickest player in the world, but he is fairly strong in the air, aggressive when he needs to be and is also competent in ground duels.
Given how well he’d adapted to senior English football, it was expected that Arsenal would send scouts to watch him play in the EFL Trophy against Exeter City.
That evening at St. James’ Park, the Royals’ attack was the highlight of the game as they won 9 to 0. Furthermore, Devon didn’t even host Bindon that evening.
It wouldn’t be shocking if the Gunners rekindled their interest in the central defender in the summertime despite this.
Due to the Royals’ ownership structure, Bindon’s contract will expire in the summer, and it’s possible that the team won’t be able to extend it before then.
Furthermore, there’s no assurance that the 19-year-old will sign a new contract, even if a takeover occurs before the summer window opens.
That might convince Mikel Arteta’s team to move quickly to finalise a deal for the international player from New Zealand.
