The Baggies’ left-back has a hamstring injury and will also have to sit out of their trip to Huddersfield Town on Sunday.

This season, Townsend, 31, has made 36 appearances in all competitions and has contributed three assists.

In the most recent update on his health, Corberan stated on March 5 on the club’s official website: “Unfortunately, Conor Townsend will not be with us.

“He had a minor hamstring strain and felt a little tight during the last game. He will miss the next two games due to injury.

There are still three players on our roster that can play left back. Pipa is the last, followed by Erik Pieters, Adam Reach, and others.

Conor Townsend’s injury status for West Brom is updated by Carlos Corberan.
West Brom will suffer from Townsend’s injury, and his impact on the left flank of defence will be felt. But, as Corberan mentioned, they have other capable candidates in his place who are prepared to take over, such as Adam Reach, Erik Pieters, or Pipa.
The player, who was formerly with Hull City and Scunthorpe United, has been a reliable contributor to the Baggies since signing in 2018.
With 203 games played and four goals scored, he has been a respectable member of the Midlands team.

Although Corberan’s left foot poses a threat from set pieces, he will need to think creatively in order to maintain the Baggies’ momentum in their pursuit of promotion to the Premier League in their next two games.

West Brom faces two teams that are fighting for their survival at the foot of the standings, QPR and Huddersfield Town, making both games difficult.
