The Swans Championship encounter at Bristol City on Sunday will be officiated by Lancashire match official Matthew Donohue.

Paul Hodskinson and Lee Venamore will aid referee Donohue, and Stephen Martin will serve as the game’s fourth official at Ashton Gate.

Donohue will officiate Swansea City games for the fourth time this season; this will be his second away Swansea City game of the year.
Donohue played a pivotal role in the Swans’ recent 2-2 draw with Birmingham City, their December home loss to Middlesbrough, and their August Carabao Cup Second Round loss to AFC Bournemouth.

Considering that this is Matthew Donohue’s sixth away game of his career, his record for Swansea City games is generally interesting to read.

Donohue has overseen 22 Championship games this season as of Saturday, with 95 yellow cards and 1 red card.

Eight different Swansea City players have already been booked this season by the referee, who averages just over four yellow cards per game. They were booked against Birmingham, Middlesbrough, Josh Tymon, Jamie Paterson, Azeem Abdulai, Josh Ginnelly, and AFC Bournemouth.

Donohue will officiate a Bristol City City game for the third time this season; the games are all held at Ashton Gate.

The earlier matches were the 4-1 victory over Plymouth Argyle in September and the most recent 3-1 victory over Southampton, in which he gave the Robins a penalty.

Donohue has already issued five bookings to Bristol City players this season: Joe Williams and Zak Vyner against the Saints, and George Tanner, Ephraim Yeboah, and Nahki Wells against the Pilgrims.
