A57 Mosborough Parkway is closed as a result of an event.

Due to concerns about the welfare of the local population, emergency services have been called to the Mosborough Parkway. As a result, the route between the roundabouts at Coisley Hill and Moss Way has been closed.

South Yorkshire Police have given The Star a statement about the incident.

The force declared: “Road closures are in effect between the Moss Way roundabout and Coisley Hill, close to the A57. Around 7 a.m., emergency services were called in due to worries for the wellbeing of a male in his 20s.”

The incident happened on the road between Coisley Hill roundabout and The Parkway. It is thought that a car struck a barrier running alongside the A57 Mosborough Bypass.

The incident site, which was close to a section of road where two lanes merge into one, was cordoned off by police.

It is unknown if anyone was hurt in the collision.

According to the force, emergency personnel were summoned to College Close in the Burngreave neighbourhood of the city at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday “following reports of violence and disorder.”

A car and some passengers collided while the call was being placed.

One man was declared dead at the site, and the other was taken to the hospital and is still seriously ill.

“We are now dealing with a murder investigation and understand the distress this will cause to those directly affected and the wider community,” stated DCI Andrew Knowles, senior investigating officer.
