A man and woman were taken to hospital after they were pulled from a car following a horror crash in Kilmarnock.

Emergency services including two fire appliances raced to Old Mill Road in the town centre on Wednesday morning after a two vehicle smash.

Near the Iceland store, a car was seen entirely upside down.

Ayrshire Live was able to view video footage of the heroic rescuers cutting apart the overturned motor using specialised equipment and teams going inside to remove the people.
Since then, police have confirmed that a lady and a man were taken to Crosshouse Hospital for emergency care. It is believed that the collision did not cause any significant injuries to anyone.

According to the officers, a thorough investigation into the crash’s circumstances is still underway.

“Around 10.20am on Wednesday, March 13, 2024, officers were called to reports of a two vehicle crash in Old Mill Road, Kilmarnock,” a spokeswoman for Police Scotland stated.

“A man and a woman from one of the vehicles were taken to Crosshouse Hospital to be checked over after emergency services were called.”To determine the complete facts surrounding the crash, investigations are still underway.

“We were alerted at 10.25am on Wednesday, March 13 to reports of a road traffic incident involving one vehicle on Old Mill Road, Kilmarnock,” a spokesman for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service stated.

“Operations Control mobilised two appliances to the scene.”Once it was confirmed that everyone was okay, the personnel left and one casualty was sent over to the Scottish Ambulance Service.”
