Nottingham Forest 21-year-old star has bizarre injury

Nottingham Forest star Anthony Elanga has been explaining that he’s got a bizarre injury – although it won’t stop him from playing.

The Reds winger, who is now playing for Sweden on the international stage, was sporting a new bandage on Saturday during Forest’s match against Luton.

Forest player Elanga has already confirmed his injury in an interview with the Swedish publication Fotbollskanalen. Let’s examine the player’s comments regarding his seemingly agonising issue in more detail.

It may seem as though it never rains, yet it does pour. But Forest supporters shouldn’t freak out just yet, as Elanga won’t have to sit out much time.

It appears that early this month, during Forest’s 1-0 loss to Brighton, the injury occurred. The winger for the Reds didn’t even start that specific game, but he did somehow pick up an issue.

Fotbollskanalen was told by Forest speedster Elanga, “I know it’s a strange thing to say, but I didn’t feel anything.” My right ring finger broke.

“It was against Brighton’s will.” I noticed that it was a little large after the game. Our doctor told me, “I think you’ve broken it,” when I asked. To be honest, I was surprised, but since it didn’t hurt, I dismissed it as unimportant.
During the next two weeks, the 21-year-old Forest winger will be away on international duty with the aim of making an impression on the new Sweden boss, Jon Dahl Tomasson.

This season, Elanga has performed admirably for Forest. He only joined from Manchester United in the summer for a reported £15 million, but now he has 12 goal contributions under his belt, including five goals and seven assists.

Elanga has three goals in 13 appearances for the national team. The Forest player will be looking to start more frequently than he did under Janne Andersson.

For the balance of the campaign, Forest really needs Elanga to be healthy and productive. It’s wonderful news that this most recent ailment won’t prevent him from playing any time.
