Jurgen Klopp, Liverpool’s manager, stated that he would be leaving the club at the conclusion of the season, which surprised football fans.

Since taking over in October 2015, the German manager has practically won every major prize over the last eight years. Despite being a popular member of the team, Klopp has declared that he would not be part in the process of selecting Liverpool’s future manager.

Klopp had a regularly planned press conference following his announcement on Friday. The conference was mostly focused on the manager’s decision and future plans.

During the press conference, Klopp was asked if he will be involved in selecting the team’s future manager.

“No, why should I?” Klopp responded.

“The last thing they need is advice from an elderly man who walks out and says, ‘By the way, make sure you bring him in.'” “I will not do that.”

“You know I have an opinion on most topics, and you’ll be surprised to learn that I still haven’t spoken everything, which I’m fine with. I wish the club the best of luck in the future, and for the time being, I am still here to assist them in achieving their goals.”

Xabi Alonso of Bayer Leverkusen was the first candidate associated with the Liverpool position. It is not surprising given that the Spanish midfielder spent five seasons at Anfield and is presently guiding Bayer Leverkusen, who lead the Bundesliga standings and seek to defeat Bayern Munich for the league title.

However, the former Liverpool player will not be the only manager the Premier League club is considering. Ange Postecoglou, Julian Nagelsmann, and Roberto De Zerbi have all been suggested as possible summer signings for the Merseyside club.

However, in the coming weeks, Brentford’s manager, Thomas Frank, could emerge as a prominent contender.

The Athletic believes Frank has followers in Liverpool. After joining the Bees in 2018, the Danish manager guided them to the Premier League in 2021.

Frank has not only helped to make Brentford a relatively strong team, but he also shares some of Klopp’s coaching techniques. Brentford, like the Reds, prefers using seemingly boundless energy to push opposition attacks high up the pitch.

But it looks like Liverpool will take their time choosing Klopp’s replacement. Before making any further decisions, the team plans to appoint a new sporting director. Liverpool’s current sporting director, Jorg Schmadtke, will leave at the end of the current transfer window.
