Fans of Leyton Orient have had the good fortune to watch some amazing players in the contemporary era, like Jobi McAnuff and Dean Cox.

However, even though they were successful at other teams, they have also been forced to observe a lot of stuff that was insufficient.

Football League World has ranked eight of the worst players from Orient in the twenty-first century.

8 Alan Dunne

Alan Dunne, who had played more than 300 games for Millwall, a rival London club, was among many who came to Leyton Orient with a respectable reputation.

It was not shocking that Dunne received a red card in one of his eight League Two appearances during the 2015–16 season, considering he had been sent off multiple times for the Lions.

The Irish defender failed to break into a side that ended worst with 87 goals conceded in 2016–17, as he was only picked for two league games.

7 Frank Nouble

The poor 2021–22 League Two season for Orient was summed up by the signing of Frank Nouble.

After failing to score in 19 league games for rival Colchester United, the striker spent the second part of the season on loan at the East London club.

He did not find the back of the net in his eight games for the O’s, nor did he really provide much in the way of playmaking or pushing.

Jens Janse

After graduating from PSV’s academy, Jens Janse played in Italy, Georgia, and Spain.

But those experiences did not help him in East London, as he was sent off against Plymouth Argyle just 14 minutes into his debut.

Janse appeared in just five league games as the O’s were demoted to the National League, same like Dunne.

5 Gary Taylor-Fletcher

Many people may be surprised by Gary Taylor-Fletcher’s inclusion, but it’s fair to say that he had a lot of trouble at Brisbane Road.
He made an impression during an FA Cup match against the O’s in 2000, leading non-league team Northwich Victoria to recruit him.

The striker’s career took off with Lincoln City in the 2004–05 season, but he was unable to adjust in his first taste of professional football, managing just two goals in 24 games.

Joe Dolan

O’s supporters must have considered the signing of a Chelsea academy graduate with first team experience at Millwall to be a coup.

However, Joe Dolan, the centre defender, was let go halfway through the 2005–06 campaign, having played in just two games under Martin Ling, the manager at the time.

His 90 minutes were spent in a 3-2 loss to Bristol Rovers, where their centre forward tormented him the entire time.

Scott Fitzgerald

Scott Fitzgerald was a talented striker who played in the semi-professional ranks for teams like Northwood and Wealdstone.

That said, Orient erred by allowing him the chance to demonstrate that he belonged outside of League Two.

The striker, who was on loan with the O’s, was sent off for violent behaviour during his one and only game.

Adrian Patulea

Although Adrian Patulea scored 11 goals in 31 League Two games for Lincoln City, he showed promise there, and it was not the correct move for all parties involved to move up to League One.

In all competitions, the Romanian made 27 appearances with the O’s, largely as a substitute, scoring just three goals.

Patulea didn’t start scoring again until he moved back to Romania with Farul Constanta, a team in the second level.

James Scowcroft

Having scored goals for Ipswich Town, Leicester City, Coventry City, and Crystal Palace in the Premier League and Championship, James Scowcroft brought a formidable resume to Brisbane Road.

Orient supporters find it incomprehensible that a player with such experience should perform so poorly in League One.

The former England under-21 international made 30 games with the O’s in all competitions, however he was never able to score.
