The Atlanta Falcons have two franchise-defining questions entering the offseason. The next head coach and quarterback are who?

Atlanta hired Los Angeles Rams defensive coordinator Raheem Morris as its new head coach for five years. Morris worked on both sides of the ball with the Falcons from 2015 to 2020 before becoming interim head coach in his last season.

Rightfully back, he gets to assist the Falcons determine what to do with the eighth choice in the 2024 NFL Draft. It appears everyone has an opinion.

That includes Braves standout center fielder Michael Harris II.

Harris was invited to select a hometown team during Braves Fest, an event for players and fans to meet and build enthusiasm before the season.

“I’d trade up and get Jayden Daniels,” Harris told Georgia Chambers.

Daniels, the 2023 Heisman Trophy winner and LSU quarterback, has risen in the draft. Despite his 1,134 running yards in his final collegiate season, he’s more than an athlete. He works well inside structure and processes well enough to handle a variety of duties, whether his new offense is straight progressions or smoke and mirrors.

Daniels was the most dynamic player. He destroyed college defenses with Malik Nabers and Brian Thomas Jr. He passed for 3,812 yards, 40 touchdowns, and 4 interceptions. Therefore, he might be a top-five choice in April’s NFL Draft.

Trading up for a quarterback is business as usual. More clubs need quarterbacks than there are good prospects, and witnessing another team leap in front might put a front office out of work.

Atlanta needs a franchise quarterback to match baseball’s success. If the Falcons watched Braves Fest is unknown.
