Oxford captain laments ‘poo in the water’, as teammates hit by E.Coli

Well, this is nothing short of a national embarrassment. Saturday’s Boat Race between Oxford and Cambridge was marred by sewage.

Oh my god. The yearly Boat Race between Cambridge and Oxford was held on Saturday under absurd circumstances due to the River Thames’s extremely unsafe pollution levels, which also caused some contestants to get E. Coli this week.
terrible water conditions ruin the boat race
Lenny Jenkins, the captain of Oxford, was harsh in his criticism of the water quality after his team was defeated by its prestigious opponents. Because of the terrible condition of the water, Cambridge decided not to follow tradition and threw their cox into the river.

The captain acknowledged that he had been vomiting earlier in the morning and that a handful of his teammates were “down pretty bad” with the E. Coli virus. He told the BBC everything, obviously disturbed by the waste around their boats.

A number of our troops have succumbed to the E. Coli strain quite severely. I wasn’t sure whether I would get a chance to be in the boat because I was throwing up this morning, but I kept that secret in the end, and that’s my responsibility.

“I honestly didn’t feel like I had much to offer in that, so I’m not sure if it was the right decision. However, in the end, it would have been much nicer if there hadn’t been as much excrement in the water. | Lenny Jenkins

‘Poo in the water’ scuppers Oxford vs Cambridge duel

Water corporations have been freely disposing of sewage for the past few years, and not much has been done to stop this environmental disaster. Rivers like The Thames have become extremely polluted due to a lack of responsibility.

Additionally, it has come to light that sewage was purportedly poured into the Thames at multiple locations during the Saturday Boat Race. Feargal Sharkey, a campaigner, was furious over everything.
