The defender Nat Phillips from Liverpool will be leaving the team in the next day or two to sign with Blackburn Rovers.

Phillips played the majority of the season with Celtic and is now far down on the Anfield hierarchy. He went back to Liverpool, though, and hasn’t been well-liked since.

However, with a transfer to Blackburn in the works, it appears like Phillips will get his opportunity to play football with the first team this season.

Liverpool will let Nat Phillips join Blackburn

In the next 24 hours, Phillips is expected to travel to Ewood Park on loan from Liverpool, according to Alan Nixon, who first revealed the news on his Patreon.

Phillips has no prospect of playing regularly for the first team at Anfield, despite his intense desire to do so.

Young players like Jarrell Quansah are even regarded to be ahead of him, and Liverpool is rumored to be searching for even another center defender in the upcoming window or two.

When Liverpool was going through a severe defensive problem a few seasons back, Phillips was a key player for Jurgen Klopp.

Phillips was linked to £10 million moves to Fulham and Bournemouth in the summer of 2022, but neither deal happened.

He hasn’t got the same opportunity subsequently, though, and his time with Celtic wasn’t great either.

Moving to the Championship will therefore present Phillips with an opportunity to pick up his game once more.

New Beginning

It’s simply that the bar is so high now that Nat Phillips is probably not performing at the level, even if he hasn’t really done anything wrong while at Liverpool.

Relocating to Blackburn is a wise choice. They are a team that is rising in the Championship and has a good chance of slipping into the postseason.

Phillips can travel there with confidence knowing that he will most likely play, which is crucial for him at this particular moment.
