John McAtee provided his surprise reaction to the Reds’ 3-1 victory at Burton Albion

In Burton, the Reds overcame a late deficit to win their twelfth away league game of the season, matching a Club record. Luca Connell scored his first goal of the year, and John McAtee netted two goals.

After missing Sunday’s training due to illness, McAtee began the game on the bench. However, he overcame his setback to convert two excellent finishes in front of the visiting Reds supporters.

“I’m ecstatic,” the 24-year-old exclaimed. Hitting the back of the net is always pleasant. The advice was to simply be upbeat and alter the course of events. I hope I succeeded in that. I believed that we had altered the game—not just me, but Phillo as well. We rushed ahead and created obstacles for them. The boys who were left were equally outstanding. Although we gave up early on and were fortunate to tie the game, we went on to win it with relative ease.”
