HUDDERSFIELD TOWN head coach Andre Breitenreiter is focusing on coming up with ‘new solutions’ in midfield following the surprise news that Jack Rudoni will miss Saturday’s crunch Championship game with fellow strugglers Millwall.
The former AFC Wimbledon player, who has been battling a hamstring issue for the previous week or two, will miss the match.
Rudoni participated in both of the Easter fixtures, which he played in against Stoke City and Coventry City. On Wednesday, the injury was discovered during training.
This Saturday’s six-pointer against the Lions will also see Captain Jonathan Hogg sit out, as he did Monday’s match at Stoke.
Breitenreiter stated: “I’m a little surprised by Jack Rudoni. Although he played in the last two games, he reported (yesterday) that he hadn’t been well for the previous ten to twelve days.
But he doesn’t feel any better, so he thought it would be best to take a break. As a result, he will not be available on Saturday.
“It was alright when he consulted with the physiotherapist. He made the decision to participate during the last two weeks, but he is now unable to do so because of his worsening health. This means that he is not available, adding to the several experienced and significant players who have missed time due to injuries.
However, we need to find fresh approaches, and the coaching staff has worthwhile tasks.
“However, we observed during the training session that everyone wants to stay on the pitch on Saturday. We also have a nice dynamic with the strikers and a very motivated team on the training pitch. In the training, there is a lot of competition.
Danny Ward, a striker, may play despite missing out due to a back injury. Defenders Radinio Balker and Tom Lees will not play this time.
“Radinio Balker has a muscle injury and may be out for the next few weeks,” Breitenreiter continued. We’ll have to wait to find out what happens next. He is unable to participate in play.
Jonathan Hogg sustained a shoulder injury, therefore we’re currently searching for a specialist to perform additional testing. He and Tom Lees are both unavailable on Saturday.
“He worked out on the pitch with the physiotherapists today, Thursday, but he is not available for Saturday.
Danny Ward returned to training with the team after missing more than a week of practice, so perhaps he will start Saturday’s game on the bench.
